Brief Experience

Ir. Dr. Mohd. Saleh Jaafar has been involved in teaching, research and consultancy activities since 1988.   He is teaching subjects related to Structural Analysis and Design, including reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete and steel structures course for students of BE (Civil) in UPM. He is also teaching courses to post-graduate students on construction materials, advanced concrete technology, bridge assessment and rehabilitation.  He was the head of Civil Engineering Department in 1999-2006, Deputy Dean (Academic) 2006-2007 and Dean of Engineering 2007-2010.    He has been appointed as Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Innovation, UPM ) on 1st January 2011.

His main research interests are in the areas of concrete structures, bridges, industrialized building systems and new construction materials.  He has published over 200 articles in journals, international and national conference proceedings.  He is now listed in Marquis Who is Who and Who is Who in Engineering Science and Computation.  

Ir. Dr. Mohd. Saleh Jaafar has also involved in design and construction of civil engineering structures.  He served Kemasepakat Sdn. Bhd. In 1990-1992 and involved in several design projects including housing development for SIME UEP, I&P and Tan & Tan.  He was also involved in bridge design with Perunding Bersatu and has been appointed to do structural design audit for JKR bridges.  He has also involved in structural / bridge assessment and rehabilitation projects through cooperation with several consulting companies.
